Job summary

CKB Recruitment is partnering with a growing insurance business in Twickenham to recruit a Motor Underwriter with experience in bespoke and niche personal lines motor insurance. The role offers ownership, decision-making and clear career progression as the team expands.

You will work closely with the underwriting team and Director, becoming a trusted technical contact for the sales floor. The position is primarily office-based in Twickenham with some home-working options; salary ranges

Qualifications

At least three years’ experience in personal lines motor insurance.
Experience with motor schemes and bespoke or niche risks.
Ability to explain underwriting judgments clearly.
Strong attention to detail in assessing risks.
Ability to manage insurer relationships and referrals.

Responsibilities

Act as a key point of contact for underwriting queries from the sales team.
Assess email and internal referrals, making decisions within your authority and refer to insurers when needed.
Present bespoke motor risks to insurer underwriters and agree terms.
Build and maintain relationships with insurer partners.
Monitor insurer loss ratios and underwriting performance to spot trends.
