Linx Printing Technologies Ltd. is seeking an outstanding Mechanical Engineering Manager in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

You will lead a four‑person mechanical team, shaping engineering discipline, delivering high‑quality mechanical design, and overseeing tollgates, risk management and continuous improvement across the engineering function. Working with the Senior Hardware Engineering Manager, you’ll mentor engineers, develop capabilities, and collaborate with R&D, electronics and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Proven track record in team building and people development.
• Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Automotive Engineering or time‑served experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in engineering environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and system integration.
• Design of products using CAE tools like SolidWorks/Creo; CAD software experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate the mechanical team, driving technical excellence and ownership.
• Accelerate product development of new printer products using industrial design and mass production techniques.
• Deliver project milestones and KPIs with design reviews, verification, validation and risk management.
• Identify and resolve risks across departments to ensure quality, performance, cost and time‑to‑market goals.
• Improve systems and processes, develop new technologies and standard toolsets (CAD, DFM, PDM, FEA).
• Ensure regulatory compliance for machine safety in a global market.
• Build a culture where engineers own problems and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
