Job summary

Senex Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a predominantly hybrid/remote role with regular site visits to Melksham, Wiltshire. The position covers full product lifecycle development, from design and 3D CAD modelling to fabrication support and supplier liaison.

You will work with 3D CAD tools, coordinate with machine shops and fabricators, and produce production drawings and technical documentation.

Qualifications

Strong background in mechanical design.
Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication advantageous.

Responsibilities

Developing, modifying and optimising mechanical designs using SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD package.
Producing accurate production drawings, CAD models and associated engineering information.
Converting existing and legacy engineering data.
Designing components and assemblies with manufacturability, quality, safety and cost in mind.
Working with machine shops, steel fabricators and other manufacturing partners.
Reviewing supplier proposals and resolving technical or engineering queries.
Helping in the selection of materials, including steel, components and associated equipment.
Providing practical technical support to the sales team in response to customer enquiries.
Compiling, reviewing and maintaining product Technical Files.
Producing user manuals, operating instructions, safety information and other technical documentation.
