Job summary

Solid Talent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer contractor in Didcot, Oxfordshire, for an initial 8-week full-time block with hybrid working. You will drive detailed design through to production release using SolidWorks, focusing on precision analytical instrumentation in a state-of-the-art facility.

The role requires strong SolidWorks and PDM skills, GD&T knowledge (BS 8888 / ISO 1101), and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and timely

Qualifications

• SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience.
• Track record turning concepts into manufacturable parts.
• Proficient in manufacturing drawings and GD&T (BS 8888 / ISO 1101).
• Experience with suppliers and machine shops.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Manage design revisions using SolidWorks PDM.
• Apply GD&T per BS 8888 / ISO 1101.
• Support components in harsh chemical environments.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineers to improve manufacturability.
• Support prototypes, testing, and production release.
