Job summary

Axon Moore are partnering with a growing manufacturing business to appoint an Assistant Plant Controller. The role sits in the finance team, supporting both financial and operational performance at the site.

You will focus on cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, reporting to the Financial Controller and partnering with operations to drive improvements. The position offers site-based work with some home-working options, a pension, holiday entitlement and strong development

Qualifications

ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE is required.
Experience in manufacturing/industrial/operations-focused finance is essential.
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, absorption and variance analysis.
Excellent Excel skills, analytical thinking and financial modelling abilities.

Responsibilities

Support month-end processes with accurate financial information and deadlines.
Produce and review reporting on standard costs, inventory, absorption and manufacturing performance.
Review site expenditure and identify key cost drivers across labour, materials, overheads, waste and losses.
Collaborate with operations to understand variances and drive actionable improvements.
Assist with standard costing updates and annual reviews.
Oversee inventory movements, valuations and reconciliations.
