Job summary

Axon Moore Group Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Plant Controller to support the financial and operational performance of a manufacturing site. The role focuses on cost accounting, standard costing, inventory and manufacturing variance analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial/operations-focused finance.
• Strong costing knowledge: standard costing, inventory accounting, absorption and variances.
• Strong Excel, analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems; SAP beneficial.
• Strong financial acumen with attention to detail and data integrity.
• Commercially minded with understanding of operational impact on financial results.
• Strong communication and business partnering skills.
• Proactive, initiative-taking with problem-solving.
• Experience in team settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end processes with accurate, timely financial data.
• Produce/review standard costs, inventory, absorption and manufacturing variance reporting.
• Analyze site expenditures and key cost drivers across labour, materials, overheads, waste and losses.
• Collaborate with operational teams to understand variances and drive actions.
• Assist with standard costing maintenance and annual updates.
• Oversee inventory movements, valuations and reconciliations.
• Provide analysis on manufacturing performance including labour, yield, throughput and efficiency.
• Support budgeting/forecasting with accurate financial information.
• Build financial models and scenario analysis for production and capacity changes.
• Develop relationships with operational stakeholders and communicate financial insights to non-finance teams.
• Challenge assumptions with the Financial Controller and promote accountability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
