Job summary

Avencia Talent Solutions Limited is seeking a Life Sciences Underwriter for a flexible UK location (Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London) with hybrid working. The role focuses on developing and underwriting Life Sciences portfolios, building broker relationships, and influencing underwriting appetite.

You will travel across the UK, manage broker meetings, and work with Life Sciences specialists to grow the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Commercial underwriting experience in Commercial Combined, P&C or Life Sciences.
• Understanding of SME or mid-market risks and sound commercial decision‑making.
• Experience building broker relationships and winning new business.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with brokers through visits and market engagement.
• Identify, underwrite and secure profitable new business.
• Develop broker panels and grow existing accounts.
• Share market insight to shape underwriting appetite and future proposition.
