Job summary

Oscar, a Nottingham-based software development firm, is seeking a Lead Developer to guide a team delivering on C# .NET, Angular, AWS and NoSQL projects.

You will coach developers through 1-to-1s, drive engineering best practices, contribute to system design, and balance hands-on coding with people leadership in a hybrid role based in Nottingham (3 days from home). The package includes a 5% pension, life cover, and generous holiday.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C# ASP.NET / .NET
• Experience with AWS; Azure may also be considered
• TypeScript and Angular 18+
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Proven technical leadership experience in a Lead Developer role, or demonstrable experience leading others in a Senior role
• Experience mentoring developers and conducting 1-to-1s
• Strong experience working in Agile environments
• Desirable: experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or MassTransit
• Desirable: experience with TDD / DDD principles
• Desirable: experience with microservices architecture
• Desirable: maths or physics background

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development using C# .NET, Angular, AWS, and NoSQL
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of developers through 1-to-1s, coaching, performance support, and managerial administration
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and delivery standards
• Support Agile delivery and continuous improvement
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system design
• Help shape technical direction and maintain a strong engineering culture
• Balance hands-on coding with people leadership and team development
