Job summary

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is seeking a motivated Landscape and Open Spaces Manager to lead the team responsible for shaping neighbourhoods, parks and public spaces across the borough. You will oversee landscape architects, open space officers and a play and projects officer, delivering projects that enhance green and blue infrastructure while supporting sustainable growth.

The role offers hybrid working up to 40% from home, a strong focus on leadership, delivery and stakeholder

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate diploma in landscape architecture.
• Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute or an experienced landscape architect actively working towards Chartership.
• Strong management and leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• A genuine passion for creating landscapes that people love.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of landscape architects, open space officers and a play and projects officer in delivering projects and work programmes to enhance parks and public spaces.
• Collaborate with planners, grounds maintenance, ecologists, tree specialists and rangers to ensure high-quality landscapes for current and future communities.
• Shape and direct the work of the team to create places that improve residents’ daily lives whilst supporting growth and development.
