Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council seeks a Green Spaces Service Manager to lead the strategic development and delivery of the Green Spaces Service, including grounds maintenance and asset management.

You will oversee urban and rural grass cutting, cemeteries and public realm projects, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to maintain high-quality parks and spaces across the borough.

The role requires a practical, hands-on leader who can work with partners and ensure a responsive, proactive service.

Qualifications

• A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
• The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post.
• A Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the strategic development and operational delivery of the Green Spaces Service, including ongoing development and sustainability of all service area functions and its teams.
• Lead and coordinate Green Spaces operations, urban and rural grass cutting, Public Realm Improvement, Cemeteries and Burials, and Asset Management and Development.
• Drive a visible, proactive 'can-do' function and maintain high standards of appearance and day-to-day condition of neighbourhoods and community spaces across the county borough.
