Job summary

Railpen is seeking a Level 1 Business Analyst to translate business needs into clear requirements across our Change & Transformation portfolio. Working with analysts, project managers, stakeholders and technical teams, you’ll support analysis activities on projects and smaller change initiatives.

You’ll develop core BA capabilities through hands-on experience, coaching and participation in the BA community. As you grow, you may take ownership of discrete analysis activities with guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis or related problem-solving activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outputs within timescales.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technical audiences.
• Good stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Structured, logical and evidence-based approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements.
• Map processes, capture data and identify issues and improvements.
• Produce and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate stakeholder workshops and follow-up actions.
• Support definition and sign-off of requirements.
• Assist with testing preparation and test scenarios.
• Communicate progress updates to stakeholders.
• Take ownership of lower-complexity analysis activities.
• Develop BA capability through coaching and community involvement.
