Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Microservices Developer to design, build and maintain Java-based microservices within our CIO Technology Engineering team. You will work alongside senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions and participate in agile ceremonies.

You will take ownership of deliverables, mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement of the wider system landscape while exploring new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience developing Java-based microservices in a commercial environment.
Experience working in agile delivery teams, with a good understanding of iterative development and collaboration.
Growing awareness of architectural principles and how they influence system design.
Experience mentoring junior developers and promoting good practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain microservices-based applications that are scalable, secure and maintainable.
Collaborate with senior engineers, architects and cross-functional scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Take ownership of deliverables, troubleshoot issues and continuously improve technical skills.
Support junior developers and contribute to community of practice by sharing learnings.
