Job summary

GlobalLogic in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design and build robust, scalable microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3. You will work across the full backend stack, design REST APIs, implement Kafka-based event-driven services, and apply domain-driven design.

Qualifications

Experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.
Experience building microservices architectures.
Hands-on Kafka, event-driven patterns.
Strong REST API design and integration testing mindset.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain backend microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.
Design and implement clean, well-documented REST APIs.
Build event-driven services using Kafka for asynchronous communication.
Apply domain-driven design principles to structure services around business capabilities.
Use MapStruct for object mapping and Feign for service-to-service communication.
Manage builds and dependencies using Gradle.
Write meaningful integration tests to ensure real-world reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
