Job summary

Cygnet is seeking an Internal Audit Assistant Manager to join the Finance Team at the Kings Hill office in Kent. This full-time, hybrid position combines office presence with remote work two days a week, offering progression into Internal Audit Management.

You will report to the Group Internal Audit Manager and lead audits across financial, operational and compliance risks, including revenue, payroll, agency staffing, IT governance and procurement controls.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk or Finance.
• Experience leading audit assignments independently.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and risk management.
• Excellent report writing and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Willingness to travel to services across the UK.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Audit Planning & Delivery: Evaluate control effectiveness and identify weaknesses.
• Produce clear, practical audit reports with value-added insights.
• Revenue Assurance: occupancy reporting, funding compliance, revenue recognition.
• Payroll: payroll processing controls and reconciliations.
• Agency Staffing: rate card compliance and vendor governance.
• IT Audits: user access, change management, DR/BC arrangements.
• Estates Audits: capex governance and asset management.
• Continuous Improvement: develop methodologies and data analytics.
