Job summary

Sheffield City Council's ICT & Digital Innovation team is seeking an Information Systems Specialist to support critical housing and neighbourhood services. You will analyse data, build dashboards and support business systems across the directorate.

The role emphasizes collaboration with suppliers and stakeholders, improving service delivery through data insights, automation and digital solutions, while maintaining data security and change control. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis of large datasets including housing/operational data.
• Ability to create interactive dashboards and reports for diverse users.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Experience with advanced reporting and SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Extract and explore data confidently using SQL and other tools as required
• Analyse root causes of system problems and implement solutions
• Support first-line help desk queries with data-driven recommendations
• Design, build and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting
• Gather requirements and translate business challenges into technical solutions
• Support service improvement and system enhancement projects
• Contribute to development and optimisation of business-critical applications
• Provide specialist SQL and application support for NEC Housing and NEC Document Management
• Maintain understanding of housing, tenancy, property, repairs and document data relations
• Review, test and implement supplier fixes and upgrades following change processes
• Act as technical lead for complex issues with suppliers and ICT colleagues
