Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Locum Housing Solutions Officer for Ilford, Greater London. This full-time 3-month contract offers £30.38 per hour and hybrid working, with potential extension. You will apply Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 duties to prevent homelessness and support residents.

You will liaise with vulnerable clients, develop Personalised Housing Plans, negotiate with landlords, and document data to inform local and national housing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with vulnerable customers to provide comprehensive housing advice and implement homelessness prevention strategies in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Engage with customers to craft and assess Personalised Housing Plans, ensuring homelessness is prevented or relieved through proactive interventions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to execute effective decision-making that reduces temporary accommodation costs for the council.
• Compile and document high-quality data on homelessness, aiding local and national analysis of key trends, causes, and solutions.
• Strategically negotiate with landlords and accommodation providers to extend housing tenure and resolve imminent homelessness threats.
• Innovatively develop diverse housing solutions via partnerships with accommodation providers to ensure sustainable housing for clients.
