Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a Housing Solutions Officer to join the Housing Solutions Team at Blueschool House. The role is hybrid, 37 hours per week, fixed term until March 28, and salary HC 07 £32,061-£36,363.

You will prevent homelessness, assess applications, advise on housing options, collaborate with partners, and safeguard vulnerable residents. The post offers LGPS, generous leave, CPD, flexible working, and a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Prevent homelessness by providing housing advice and early intervention to help households maintain tenancies.
• Case management: assess homelessness applications, conduct interviews, and decide under Housing Act guidance.
• Housing options advice: deliver guidance on all available housing options.
• Partnership working: collaborate with Home Point, RP, landlords to maximise housing stock.
• Safeguarding: prioritise wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and families.
