Job summary

Manpower Engineering is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a high-performing delivery team supporting major infrastructure programmes across Scotland. You will help maintain visibility of performance across cost, programme, risk and change, working with Project Directors and multidisciplinary teams.

The role involves delivering weekly/monthly reporting packs, supporting project controls, risk registers and change control, NEC administration, governance, and dashboards in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or major capital projects.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Understanding of project controls, governance, reporting and change management processes.
• Experience using CEMAR, Power BI, SharePoint or similar PM systems.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a wider project delivery team.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Producing weekly and monthly project reporting packs and management information.
• Maintaining project controls processes and supporting performance reporting.
• Managing project risk and opportunity registers and facilitating risk review meetings.
• Administering project change control processes, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Supporting NEC contract administration activities.
• Coordinating governance requirements and maintaining project records.
• Assisting with forecasting, programme updates and financial performance reporting.
• Managing action trackers, decision logs and lessons learned registers.
• Supporting Project Boards and governance reviews with accurate reporting.
• Maintaining SharePoint sites, reporting platforms and project dashboards.
• Working with geographically dispersed project teams to ensure consistent project controls and reporting standards.
• Identifying emerging risks, issues and performance trends and escalating as appropriate.
