Job summary

Ascenti is recruiting for a Functional Assessor in Ashford. The role blends clinical assessment with report writing, combining 60% in-person work at an assessment centre and 40% home-based work.

Full training is provided, and there is no requirement for prior Functional Assessor experience. You will hold consultations with claimants, assess a range of health conditions, and use clinical reasoning to understand daily living impacts, supported by strong IT and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professionals with at least 12 months post-registration experience.
• Full registration with NMC, HCPC or GPhC.
• Confidence using IT systems alongside your clinical judgement.

Responsibilities

• Holding telephone, video or in-person consultations with claimants.
• Assessing a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.
• Applying clinical reasoning to understand how health impacts daily living.
• Producing accurate, evidence-based reports and supporting development with your manager.
