Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a Fleet Services & Fleet Management professional to coordinate and deliver key projects for our county-wide fleet. You will lead on fleet procurement and asset management, ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.

The role offers hybrid working with four days per week in Skirsgill Depot, Penrith and up to one day from home. Salary sits around £35,570–£36,581, with a closing date of 04 October 2026 and an interview date of 09 October 2026.

Responsibilities

• To support the establishment, coordination, management and delivery of specific Fleet Services and Fleet Management projects.
• To monitor and report on the Council’s fuel spend, both bulk fuel and fuel cards.
• To lead with the Council’s purchase, lease and hire of vehicles for the county wide fleet. To assist with the disposal of vehicles, plant and equipment.
• To provide support to the Fleet Management Team, with acting up responsibilities.
