Job summary

B&D Reside is seeking a Fire Safety Coordinator to join our Fire Safety Team. You will coordinate fire safety programmes, monitor compliance, and support remedial actions across our housing portfolio.

The role requires strong organisational skills and collaboration with contractors, residents, and internal teams. The position is hybrid (Barking / sites / home) with a salary of £30,000–£45,000; contract with potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

• Experience in building safety, fire safety, health & safety, compliance or property management.
• Strong organisational and programme coordination skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with accurate record keeping.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; report writing.
• Experience producing performance data reports and dashboards.
• Ability to identify issues, elevate risks and support improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management with contractors and residents.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with MS Office and housing/compliance systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor fire safety programmes across housing portfolios.
• Maintain and monitor compliance records and reporting dashboards.
• Support timely delivery of fire safety works and remedial actions.
• Assist with risk assessments, audits and compliance checks.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders including contractors and the Council.
• Support resident engagement strategies for higher‑risk buildings.
• Assist with incident management and responses to safety incidents.
• Support training and awareness sessions for residents and building users.
