Job summary

4Way Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression Design Engineer for a hybrid role in West Midlands. You will design fire alarm and gas suppression systems for commercial, industrial and special risk environments, in line with relevant codes of practice, and coordinate with clients and other trades.

The role involves reading specifications, producing 3D models, liaising with suppliers, attending client meetings (online and in person) with occasional overseas travel, and working

Qualifications

• Understanding of fire alarm and gas suppression standards, including BS 5839, BS 6266, BS 7273 and BS EN 15004.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks for 2D and 3D design work.
• Previous experience within the fire alarm industry.
• Understanding of the commercial implications of design decisions.
• Industry qualifications advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on, can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Designing fire alarm and gas suppression systems for commercial, industrial and special risk environments in line with relevant codes of practice.
• Reading and reviewing consultant specifications, project drawings and proposals.
• Producing 3D models and coordinating with clients and other trades through the design phase.
• Liaising with suppliers to stay current on market developments and products.
• Attending client meetings, both online and in person, with occasional overseas travel where required.
• Working closely with project and sales teams, including internal handover meetings once a project is awarded.
