Job summary

Cento is seeking a Fire Detection & Alarm Design Engineer in the West Midlands to own the complete design from survey to finished drawings. You will design full fire detection, alarm and PAVA systems for large, complex buildings, producing drawings yourself and moving towards Revit modelling as the business starts to model fire alarm systems.

You will survey and review designs, liaise with clients and engineers, and contribute to project handover with clear reports and robust design

Qualifications

• Proven fire alarm design experience beyond simply marking device positions.
• Ability to design and produce full CAD layouts and design documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Design fire detection and alarm systems to BS 5839-1 for complex buildings.
• Design PAVA and voice alarm systems to BS 5839-8 where required.
• Produce full CAD layouts, riser schematics and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Review contractors' designs and oversee installations to handover.
• Liaise with clients and engineers to agree design requirements.
• Develop skills in Revit modelling as the team moves into modelling.
