Job summary

SSR Contract & Technical is seeking a Technical Engineering Manager in Hertfordshire to oversee all fire alarm installation and commissioning activities. You will lead the engineering team, ensure design-to-delivery quality, and act as the technical authority across projects.

The role requires extensive fire alarm experience, BS 5839/BAFE knowledge, and strong commercial and IT skills. Hybrid working is available with a dominant office presence.

Qualifications

Candidates must be from the fire alarm industry.
Full understanding of BS 5839 and BAFE standards is required.
Proven record in project delivery is essential.
High level of fire alarm engineering expertise is expected.
Commercial awareness and strong communication skills are required.
IT skills, HR and H&S awareness are important.
A full driving licence is necessary.

Responsibilities

Oversee all installation and commissioning works from order to acceptance/design to practical completion.
Act as the technical authority for fire installations and commissioning.
Lead and manage the engineering team; provide technical support.
Collaborate with estimation and design teams to ensure designs are costed correctly and margins are met.
