Job summary

The Open University in Milton Keynes is seeking a skilled Finance Administrator to join the Finance Core Support team. You will collate financial information for internal and external reporting, prepare data, and run routine reports to support budget holders and project funding.

The role covers ad-hoc queries, cost forecasting, project budgets, and supporting audits, with a flexible hybrid pattern and part-time or fixed-term options.

Qualifications

• AAT intermediate or equivalent qualification is essential.
• Experience in accounting environment, preferably in management accounts or business partnering.
• Experience costing/budgeting/forecasting and strong Excel skills.
• Experience adhering to accounting regulations and participating in audits.
• Experience training or coaching staff and managing others.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial input and standard reports to budget managers to inform forecasts and decisions.
• Resolve transactional queries and triage work across the finance teams.
• Support audit queries and maintain project cost analysis.
• Offer guidance on university financial processes and cost/pricing methodologies.
• Process staffing changes in finance workflow and maintain SCF data.
