Job summary

Dudley Building Society is seeking a Finance Control and Reconciliation Analyst to join our Finance team. You’ll support day-to-day operations, complete reconciliations, process financial transactions and investigate discrepancies to maintain strong financial controls.

The role covers payments processing (CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS), maintaining records, and collaborating with Finance and Operations to ensure accurate, timely information while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance controls and reconciliations, with the confidence to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience in payments processing and purchase ledger activities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clear, accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations across finance and operational accounts, investigating and resolving differences.
• Maintain clear supporting evidence for all reconciliations in line with internal control and audit requirements.
• Process and transmit authorised payments, including CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS and other payment types as required.
• Process daily bank credits and debits and upload transactions to the Society's core banking system.
• Support the Finance Supervisor in maintaining a strong financial control framework.
• Review financial transactions and balances to identify errors, omissions or unusual items.
• Assist with month-end processes, including preparation of journals and schedules.
• Support internal reporting for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve reconciliation queries.
• Support improved working practices and use of systems and reporting tools.
