Job summary

Cumberland Council in Carlisle is seeking an experienced Technical Finance Officer to join our finance team. You will oversee key financial controls, ensure compliance and support the production of statutory accounts, with hybrid working arrangements available.

The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £46,579 to £47,664. You will work with senior managers and external partners to deliver accurate financial services.

• Experience with financial systems and control functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the team managing key financial controls, including bank reconciliations and main accounting system reconciliations.
• Support VAT return and input to production of statutory accounts.
• Work with senior managers and external partners to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
