Job summary

Cooper Moss Rutland (CMR) is seeking a Finance Assistant for day-to-day transactional finance across the business. The role is open to full-time or part-time arrangements with a pattern to include the month-end window and overlap with the Finance Manager/Financial Controller.

You will ensure accurate processing of transactions, timesheets, receipts and expenses, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain timely and complete information.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance, accounts or admin role.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Experience with purchase ledger, sales invoicing or bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel and Xero.
• Good communication and proactive problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day processes.

Responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices accurately and coding them.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and VAT handling.
• Raise accurate sales invoices from timesheets and project data.
• Support credit control by chasing overdue invoices.
• Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
• Support month-end close and timesheet submissions.
