Job summary

Cooper Moss Rutland (CMR) is a growing, independent project controls consultancy in London. We seek an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to own the finance function, bring structure and insight, and operate in a hands‑on environment.

The role is part‑time (2–3 days/wk) with a fixed month‑end close, offering ownership over budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and external accountant relationships as CMR scales.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with 2–3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in month‑end, management accounts and financial reporting is essential.
• Background in industry (not practice) and hands‑on in a small finance function.

Responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process from end to end.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Present monthly numbers to Partners with clear commentary.
• Monitor performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Drive early month‑end information delivery for Partners.
• Investigate variances and analyse actuals vs forecasts.
• Run monthly finance meetings with Partners to set priorities.
