Mother Root is seeking a Finance Assistant to own the operational backbone of finance, supporting the Finance Manager and freeing up the senior team to focus on strategy, forecasting and growth. This full-time, hybrid role reports into the Finance Manager and sits at our London HQ, with handover from our outsourced partner.

You will run weekly payments, manage bank accounts, staff expenses, invoicing, FX transfers and compliance with external accountants, while keeping records pristine and

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in finance operations including payment runs, expenses, supplier admin and bank reconciliations
• High accuracy with careful double-checking of numbers and records
• Strong organisational skills to manage weekly cycles and longer projects
• Excellent attention to detail for bank details, invoices and approval limits
• Comfortable using finance tools (Xero) and online banking platforms

Responsabilités

• Run the weekly payment process, including prep, checks and back-up authoriser role
• Manage day-to-day bank accounts and access
• Own staff expenses and reimbursements, including company card costs
• Manage contractor and partner invoicing and payment terms
• Coordinate FX and international transfers to ensure timely payments
• Support compliance with filings and payments with external accountants
• Keep finance records tidy and flag missing items
• Help improve finance operations and approval workflows
