Job summary

Yellow Power Ltd., based in Stoke-on-Trent, is hiring a full-time Service Engineer for a hybrid role in the Midlands, with nationwide travel, overnight stays, and on-call support. The engineer will install, maintain and repair diesel and gas generator systems and related equipment.

Key duties include remote monitoring, diagnosing issues, and carrying out scheduled and reactive service visits while ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for diesel and gas power generation systems.
• Hands-on field service experience including on-site installation, maintenance and repair.
• Ability to interpret manuals, schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components in generator sets and ancillary equipment.
• Effective communication with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Health, safety and environmental regulations awareness for power generation and site work.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and work independently with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Remote monitoring and diagnosing technical issues.
• Completing scheduled and reactive service visits.
• Ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory, and manufacturer standards.
• Documenting service activities and coordinating parts, upgrades and follow-up visits.
• Communicating with clients and providing guidance on system operation.
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely support and continuous improvement.
