Job summary

ADAS Archaeology and Historic Building is seeking an Operations Coordinator on a fixed-time 6 month contract. The role is hybrid home and office-based and can be based out of Romsey, Boxworth or Derby.

You will coordinate fieldwork logistics, deployment, geomatics, post-excavation and archives, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects on time and to budget. Full PPE, laptop and vehicle support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial archaeological fieldwork (5+ years).
• ACIfA accreditation or higher with CIfA.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills.
• Proven recording techniques and DGPS surveying knowledge.
• Experience in Health and Safety documentation (site).
• Ability to supervise plant and outdoor work in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Direct large-scale trial trench evaluations and excavations.
• Assist geoarchaeological fieldwork under supervision.
• Prepare WSIs, fieldwork reports and project archives.
• Liaise with ADAS staff, on-site subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Represent ADAS Archaeology professionally at all times.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing policies are followed.
• Produce risk assessments and site audits.
• Deliver work on time and meet client expectations.
