Job summary

ADAS Archaeology and Historic Building seeks an Assistant Supervisor/Project Supervisor/Senior Supervisor on a fixed-time 6-month contract. The hybrid home and office-based role is flexible, with bases in Romsey, Boxworth or Derby.

You will lead fieldwork and reporting on archaeological, geoarchaeological and environmental contracts, working with Ecology, Planning and Landscape teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in commercial archaeological fieldwork.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills.
• Proven ability to supervise project technicians.
• Experience supervising plant.
• DGPS surveying knowledge.
• Experience preparing Health and Safety site documentation, WSIs and related reports.
• Right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out watching briefs and monitoring ground investigation works to a high standard.
• Assist with geoarchaeological fieldwork under supervision.
• Produce Written Schemes of Investigations, fieldwork reports and project archives.
• Collaborate with ADAS staff, on-site subcontractors, principal contractors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing policies are followed on site.
• Prepare risk assessments and site audits with the team.
• Deliver work on time, meet project profit targets and client expectations.
