Job summary

RSK Group's Archaeology and Historic Building division seeks Assistant Supervisor/Project Supervisor/Senior Supervisor on a fixed-time 6-month contract. The hybrid role can be based from Romsey, Boxworth, or Derby, combining fieldwork with office-based duties.

You will supervise field teams, conduct watching briefs, write schemes of investigations, and liaise with clients and stakeholders. A degree in a relevant subject and 2+ years in commercial archaeology are required; UK driving license and

Qualifications

• 2 years+ professional experience in commercial archaeological fieldwork.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills and a positive attitude.
• Proven ability in archaeological recording and DGPS surveying knowledge.
• Experience in Health and Safety site documentation and reports.
• Proven supervision of Project Technicians and plant on site.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weathers and away from home.
• Right to work in the UK and valid UK driving licence.
• Degree level education in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Carry out archaeological watching briefs and monitor ground investigations to a high standard.
• Assist with geoarchaeological fieldwork under supervision.
• Produce Written Schemes of Investigations and fieldwork reports.
• Collaborate with ADAS staff, subcontractors and stakeholders on-site and off-site.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing policies are followed on site.
• Prepare risk assessments and site audits with colleagues.
• Deliver work on time, within budget, and to high archaeological standards.
