Job summary

Cirrus Logic seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to craft high-performance firmware close to hardware for DSPs and MCUs. You will design real-time pipelines, optimize latency and power, and collaborate with hardware and systems teams to bring products from concept to production.

The role spans architecture/design, low-level firmware, and performance tuning, with a focus on reliable, scalable firmware and strong documentation. Hybrid in Newbury/London, with in-office days as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong firmware experience in C/C++ for MCUs/DSPs.
• Experience with RISC V and/or Arm Cortex M/A architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for DSP cores and MCUs (RISC V and/or Arm).
• Build and optimize real-time signal-processing pipelines (fixed-point and/or floating-point).
• Develop firmware with C/C++ with emphasis on performance, memory, and power.
• Bring up new hardware: boot flows, clocks, memory maps, interrupt vectors, peripheral init.
• Implement and debug drivers and RTOS components (Zephyr or equivalent).
• Develop test strategies: unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop tests, diagnostics.
• Use debugging/profiling tools: JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscope, trace tools.
