Job summary

Peregrine is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its forward‑thinking R&D team in Dorset. You will work across the full firmware lifecycle, from requirements capture and development through hardware integration and release, with strong C/C++ skills and microcontroller experience.

Qualifications

• Strong C/C++ programming in embedded environments.
• Experience developing firmware for microcontrollers (STM32, TI or similar) with RTOS.
• Understanding hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
• Hardware/software integration and debugging across firmware and hardware.
• Ability to break down requirements into clear features and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Define firmware requirements and plan implementation.
• Develop, test and review embedded firmware across multiple platforms.
• Support firmware update mechanisms, bootloaders and deployment strategies.
• Integrate and test firmware with hardware and system components.
• Participate in stand-ups and planning sessions.
• Perform regression testing and contribute to CI improvements.
