Bolt Technical Limited is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Cheltenham. You will design, develop and maintain embedded firmware in C, work with STM32/PIC32 microcontrollers, RTOS and bare‑metal systems, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver high‑quality, reliable solutions.

The role emphasizes translating requirements into practical software, testing and debugging embedded systems, and producing documentation while contributing to product evolution within a hybrid

Qualificações

• Experience developing embedded software using C.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, ideally STM32 or PIC32.
• Familiarity with RTOS and bare‑metal programming.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, serial and wireless.

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 08:00–16:30; Friday, 08:00–13:30 (flexible working available)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Software Engineer to join an innovative engineering business developing advanced electronic products and embedded systems.

You will play a key role in developing new products and enhancing existing technology. Working closely with hardware and software engineers, you will contribute to software design, development, testing and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to influence technical decisions and deliver high‑quality, reliable solutions.

Duties of an Embedded Software Engineer:

• Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware using C.
• Lead and contribute to the development of new products and software architecture.
• Work with microcontrollers, RTOS and bare‑metal systems.
• Translate requirements into practical software solutions.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot embedded systems.
• Produce technical documentation, test plans and scripts.

What you need to apply for an Embedded Software Engineer:

• Experience developing embedded software using C.
