Job summary

PTSG Electrical Safety Division in Glasgow is seeking an Electrical Test & Remedial Engineer to cover regional sites such as schools, retail units and industrial facilities. You will perform EICRs on commercial installations, identify faults and deliver clear remedial reports.

The role combines investigative testing with hands-on remediation, requires current 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3, AM2 or equivalent qualifications.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 or equivalent inspection and testing qualifications.
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience carrying out electrical installation work within commercial environments.
• Fixed wire testing experience would be highly advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job properly first time.
• Someone who can work independently while still being a great team player.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Identifying faults, non-compliances and potential risks, then producing high-quality reports with clear recommendations.
• Completing remedial and rectification works following inspections to meet BS7671 requirements.
• Producing Minor Works Certificates, Remedial Completion Reports and related documentation.
• Carrying out additional specialist inspections and testing, including emergency lighting and RCD testing.
• On-site work with customers, delivering a professional service and representing PTSG to a high standard.
• Using modern testing equipment and reporting software for accurate results.
• Staying up to date with industry regulations, standards and best practice.
