Job summary

Surrey Police Headquarters in Guildford seeks a fixed-term full-time Force Duties & Resourcing Planner. Based in Operations Command, the role supports day-to-day policing and major events across Surrey & Sussex, with potential for some home working after training.

You will coordinate resources, manage absences, and advise internal customers on duties and policy, ensuring timely delivery of policing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operational aspects of the Police Service.
• Awareness of Police Regulations, Police Staff Terms and Conditions and the European working directives.
• Excellent planning and organising skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communications skill(s).
• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision, as part of a dedicated team.
• Good IT skills and experience of using a computerised resourcing system is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resource demands are met for day-to-day policing activity and for major events across Surrey & Sussex.
• Ensure officers and staff are where they need to be to meet policing demands.
• Work as part of the Duties and Resourcing Team to provide resources for day-to-day and pre-planned operations.
• Manage personnel absences and attendances; advise internal customers on duties and resourcing, including policy guidance.
