Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a District Heating Business Intelligence Officer to turn complex data into clear insights that support better decision-making and service delivery across the district heat network.

You will work with Enviroenergy, Finance and stakeholders to identify trends, improve billing accuracy and drive performance improvements while handling large datasets with Excel and reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or equivalent experience in data analysis, business intelligence, finance, performance reporting, data science, or a related discipline.
• Experience analysing and interpreting large datasets, including extracting, cleansing, matching and validating data from different systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills with formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation and visual reporting tools.
• Good knowledge of financial processes, billing, reconciliation and data quality in relevant environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive, curious and improvement-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Turn complex data into clear insights to support decisions and service delivery.
• Identify trends, solve problems and improve billing accuracy across the district heat network.
• Collaborate with Enviroenergy, Finance and other teams to drive performance improvements.
• Interrogate data, present findings clearly and translate analysis into practical recommendations.
