Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University Library & Cultural Services is seeking a Digital Librarian to join our Digital Services team to develop and enhance platforms, systems and services underpinning access to our library, cultural and research collections.

The role offers hybrid working with time on campus and remote, and the opportunity to use emerging technologies, data and UX to improve the experience for students, researchers and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with library or cultural services systems, discovery platforms, repositories or related digital services.
• Enthusiasm for innovation and new technologies to transform library services.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage library and cultural services systems, digital platforms, websites, applications and databases.
• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of electronic resources and digital collections for reliable access.
• Provide metadata, discovery services, websites and digital content management expertise.
• Use data and UX insights to inform decision making and improve services.
• Explore opportunities to use AI and automation to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
