Job summary

Kier Design is seeking a Design Engineer to join the team across multiple UK locations with hybrid working options. The role focuses on delivering complex construction engineering services, supporting tender development, value engineering and design challenges from concept to delivery.

You'll contribute to temporary works design, feasible studies and collaborative project delivery, developing as part of Kier's engineering centre of excellence within a leading contractor network.

Qualifications

• Working towards or have completed IEng Initial Professional Development with a relevant professional institution
• Holding a Level 6 or Level 7 qualification with demonstrable experience
• Bringing significant experience to the role
• In possession of a full driving licence
• Someone who enjoys collaborative working and building effective relationships

Responsibilities

• Contributing to temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works design
• Supporting tender and bid winning activities including outline design schemes and feasibility studies
• Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance competitive position
• Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third party designs to ensure compliance
• Providing technical expertise and advice, acting as a centre of engineering excellence
