Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited seeks a Design Engineer in London to support ongoing projects renewing the London Underground’s network, focusing on telecoms and network solutions. The role involves delivering buildable designs, estimates, programs and work packages that meet contractual requirements and safety standards.

This hybrid position requires collaboration with cross functional teams, adherence to design processes, and delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms engineering and network design within rail/telecoms domains.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and design lifecycle processes.
• Ability to produce design estimates, programs and work packages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into designs.
• Produce buildable, maintainable designs meeting standards and legislation.
• Identify technical debt and performance bottlenecks to improve designs.
• Work with engineering disciplines to ensure successful delivery.
• Follow Hitachi Rail design processes and project management plans.
• Escalate issues to the Senior Design Engineer and provide status reports.
