Job summary

Hitachi Rail is recruiting a Project Engineer to support delivery of the Connect network upgrade for London Underground. The role involves planning and delivering site works in a railway environment, including installation, testing, commissioning and configuration across radio, fibre and transmission disciplines.

The role is based at Waterloo with a minimum of two days per week in the office, working alongside a Work Package Manager and Design Engineers to implement project plans.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering site works in a railway environment.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and convert into clear work instructions.
• Familiarity with APM Project Management framework and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Assess access requirements and arrange planned works.
• Write risk assessments and method statements.
• Assign staff to complete works within budgets.
• Produce installation, testing and commissioning estimates.
• Manage on-site quality issues and NCRs.
• Manage materials, call-offs and subcontracts.
• Perform periodic site inspections to monitor progress.
