Job summary

Coventry Building Society is seeking a DataOps Engineer to design, develop and test data solutions within multidisciplinary teams. You will act as a CI/CD specialist, automate data processes, and drive continuous improvement across tools and practices.

You’ll work in a team-led hybrid model, with 1–2 days per week in our Coventry office, and contribute to high-quality data platforms supporting business transformation and analytics.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering scalable data solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Strong SQL, Python, Spark and Scala skills with data warehousing experience.
• Familiar with AWS data tooling (S3/Glue/Redshift).
• CI/CD tooling and infrastructure automation (IaC).
• Experience with data modelling techniques and data governance.
• Quality assurance and testing in data pipelines.
• Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies and coaching teams.
• Knowledge of data integration tools such as Databricks, Informatica or SAS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Automate data engineering processes and improve delivery quality.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching within Data Office teams.
• Collaborate with third-party suppliers and cross-functional data teams.
• Support business-critical data solutions and on-call activities as needed.
