Nationwide Building Society is seeking a Data Governance Consultant to collaborate with our Metadata & Data Quality team. You will enhance how we understand, manage and trust data through metadata management, data lineage and quality controls.

The role offers hybrid working across the UK, with time split between offices in Swindon, London or Glasgow and home working options. You'll partner with business and technology colleagues to implement governance processes and tooling, delivering practical

Qualifications

• Understanding metadata management, data lineage, critical data elements, data quality controls and governance best practices.
• Strong analytical skills to investigate data-related challenges and deliver practical solutions.
• Experience supporting data quality monitoring, metadata management or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience using governance tooling such as Collibra, Informatica or similar platforms, with automation to improve governance.
• Proficiency in SQL, SAS or similar technologies to analyse data and support data-driven decisions.
• Experience working with business and technical stakeholders to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to improve understanding, quality and control of data. Support data lineage and data quality monitoring.
• Embed governance controls and improve adoption of governance tooling across teams.
• Balance operational delivery with longer-term governance improvements for efficiency and trust.
