Job summary

GMCA is seeking a Data Engineer to lead scalable data pipelines and support the DDaT strategy on a permanent basis. You will work across cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and maintain secure, compliant data landscapes.

The role requires strong SQL/ETL skills, experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and related Microsoft stack tools, with a commitment to data quality and automation.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or significant demonstrable experience in a relevant field.
• Understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts.
• Understanding of relational database concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of stable, reusable, scalable data pipeline solutions.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to implement data pipelines.
• Guide and inform the organisation on tools and methods for automation and data visualization.
• Administer data and application security; ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
• Monitor ETL performance and drive improvements.
• Coach and mentor use of data engineering tools and processes.
• Manage incidents, problems and service desk requests.
