Job summary

Sword is seeking a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, and Databricks. You will integrate diverse data sources, develop ELT/ETL processes, and shape data architectures for analytics and reporting.

You will mentor juniors, engage with clients, and contribute to CI/CD of data solutions while advancing towards senior responsibilities. A hybrid work approach and ongoing learning opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric Pipelines, or Databricks.
• Integrate data from multiple systems into storage and ensure performance and reliability.
• Develop ELT/ETL processes using Azure-native tools and Fabric capabilities, optimizing cost and performance.
• Maintain Microsoft Fabric artefacts including lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, dataflows, and semantic models.
• Perform advanced data transformations with SQL, Python, Spark, or Fabric to prepare data for analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines across Azure and Fabric ecosystems.
• Integrate data from multiple systems into Azure Data Lake Storage or OneLake.
• Develop ELT/ETL processes with Azure tools and Fabric capabilities, optimizing cost and performance.
• Maintain Fabric artefacts such as lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, dataflows, and semantic models.
• Transform data using SQL, Python, Spark, or Fabric for analytics and reporting.
• Support enterprise BI by preparing datasets and reusable components in Power BI and Fabric.
• Apply data governance and security practices with Purview to ensure data quality and security.
