Job summary

Marsh in London is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, data products and infrastructure to support business teams.

You will work with senior colleagues to build ETL processes, dashboards in Power BI, and manage AWS-based services such as S3, Glue, Lambda and Step Functions.

A 3–5 year background in data engineering, a bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering, strong SQL and Python skills, and good collaboration abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation.
• Experience with Power BI for dashboards.
• Experience with Python for data processing.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, etc.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL processes to integrate data into a Lakehouse.
• Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI for stakeholders.
• Support AWS cloud infrastructure including S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions.
• Ensure data quality via validation with dbt.
• Collaborate with data analysts/scientists across teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Use Python for data manipulation and automation.
