Job summary

Artefact in London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and lead data projects in a fast-growing environment.

You will work with SQL, Python and modern platforms like Databricks, Snowflake and Airflow, and mentor a team of data engineers while ensuring data quality and governance.

This hybrid role requires strong communication, problem solving and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience with SQL, Python and big data technologies.
• Experience building scalable data workflows using cloud-native orchestration tools.
• Leadership experience managing data engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python, leveraging Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow and PySpark.
• Lead the integration of complex data systems and ensure consistency and accuracy of data across multiple platforms.
• Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines to improve efficiency and quality of data processing.
• Work closely with data architects, analysts and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical implementations.
• Oversee and mentor a team of data engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and enforce data governance, security, and compliance within the organisation.
• Develop dashboards and reports for business teams.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies to enhance capabilities of the data engineering function.
